Responsibilities

The action of the Student Ombudsman is carried out in coordination with the student associations and with the institution’s governing bodies and services, namely the Pedagogical Council, as well as its academic units.

The Student Ombudsman’s main functions are as follows:

a) To analyze complaints, claims, proposals, and suggestions submitted by students of the Miguel Torga Higher Institute, related to scientific and/or pedagogical matters;

b) To propose, in coordination with other bodies, namely the Pedagogical Council, solutions to problems that arise in this area.

The proposals presented by the Student Ombudsman shall be preceded by consultation with the Board of the Student Association of the Miguel Torga Higher Institute.

Term of Office

The Student Ombudsman is chosen from among the tenured teaching staff of the Miguel Torga Higher Institute, and the term of office lasts two years, renewable for an equal period.
