Municipality of Mira promotes the conference “Equality Has No Age” in partnership with ISMT
The Municipality of Mira is organising the conference “Equality Has No Age | Promoting Rights, Combating Ageism” on 26 October 2026, in partnership with Instituto Superior Miguel Torga (ISMT). The initiative takes place at the Atrium Raul Almeida in Mira, as part of the local authority's Municipal Plan for Equality and Non-Discrimination. The event aims to raise awareness about combating ageism, promote citizens' rights, and encourage reflection on building a fairer, more inclusive society that respects all age groups.
Proceedings begin at 14:15 with the opening session, featuring a welcome address and presentation of the conference by the Mayor of Mira, Artur Fresco. As an institutional and scientific partner of the initiative, ISMT leads the analytical and debate sessions of the meeting. The programme continues at 15:30 with a presentation entitled “Promoting ageism-free organisational cultures”, delivered by Ricardo Crispim, lecturer at Instituto Superior Miguel Torga. At 16:00, a roundtable discussion on the theme “How to build a society where equality has no age?” will take place, moderated by Fernanda Daniel, lecturer at Instituto Superior Miguel Torga.
The conference is open to the student community, social sector professionals, and the general public. Attendance is free of charge, subject to mandatory registration via the online form: https://forms.cloud.microsoft/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=DHS6hQH8j0WmDPiLl7tLwoDSRy9iDrFFgKKxNbo4_NBUQjc1SVhKM0lDT1lHTEQzWTFUWVZVSzhZOC4u.
