The Instituto Superior Miguel Torga takes part in the 9th International Symposium of Researchers, entitled "Social Work in History: social question, social movements and struggles - Latin America and Europe".
The Instituto Superior Miguel Torga takes part in the 9th International Symposium of Researchers, entitled "Social Work in History: social question, social movements and struggles - Latin America and Europe". This initiative is part of the internationalisation strategy for the first and second cycles of studies in Social Work at the institution, promoting transnational scientific cooperation.
The event takes place in Brazil in a roving format. Sessions are held on September 21 at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora and, between September 23 and 25, at the State University of Rio de Janeiro. The scientific organisation brings together ninety researchers organised across sixteen teams and nine countries, namely Argentina, Angola, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Spain, Portugal, the United Kingdom, and Uruguay.
ISMT is represented by faculty member Maria Rosa Tomé, who is part of the research group for Portugal. The faculty member coordinates the panel session dedicated to the theme "Social Work in History: social question and social movements - Latin America and Europe", scheduled for September 1, 2026, from 10:00 to 12:00. The session includes contributions from Maria Helena Elpídio, Sérgio Quintero, Fabrícia C. C. Maciel, and Daniela Monteiro.
