The faculty member from the Instituto Superior Miguel Torga (ISMT), Fernando Tavares, reinforced the institution's international presence by actively participating in Ourense (University of Vigo Campus, Spain) as supervisor for Paulino Ricardo Cossengue's PhD thesis in Tourism.
The Instituto Superior Miguel Torga (ISMT) reinforces its presence and collaboration in the international academic landscape through the active participation of its faculty members in research projects of global relevance. Recently, the faculty member Fernando Tavares was in Ourense, at the University of Vigo Campus in Spain, in his capacity as supervisor for Paulino Ricardo Cossengue’s PhD in Tourism thesis. This participation underscores ISMT's commitment to excellence in research and its capacity to supervise advanced level studies.
The defended research work, entitled "Análise Estratégica do Potencial Ecoturístico no Planalto Central de Angola: Referência das Áreas Rurais da Província do Huambo" (Strategic Analysis of Ecotourism Potential in the Central Highlands of Angola: Reference to the Rural Areas of the Huambo Province), addresses a topic of significant importance for the sustainable development and appreciation of natural heritage in the Central Highlands region of Angola. The thesis developed by Paulino Ricardo Cossengue constitutes a fundamental contribution to the planning and implementation of ecotourism strategies that can benefit the rural communities of Huambo.
The participation of faculty member Fernando Tavares in this doctoral process not only highlights the scientific quality of the ISMT faculty, but also establishes and strengthens international academic cooperation ties. Initiatives such as this are crucial for knowledge sharing, scientific mobility, and the consolidation of the Institute's partnership network, contributing directly to the enrichment of research in ISMT's areas of specialisation.
