Throughout October, the Miguel Torga Higher Institute hosts at its Library the exhibition “Having a decent income is not asking for the impossible: between voices and images”, a joint organisation by EAPN Portugal – European Anti-Poverty Network and ISMT, as part of the Initiative for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion.
Open to the general public, this exhibition aims to give voice and visibility to the faces and stories of those who daily face the challenges of poverty and the real impact of an income that does not cover basic needs.
Each photograph on display was taken by the individuals themselves, carrying meanings, colours, and emotions that, sometimes harshly, depict the conditions in which many citizens live in Portugal and their hope for a better life.
This exhibition contributes to the defence of an adequate minimum income, capable of transforming lives and fighting poverty. Living with dignity is not a privilege — it is a Right that must unite us as a society and ensure that no one is left behind.
📍 Location: ISMT Library – Rua Bernardo Albuquerque, nº 6, 1st floor, 3000-070 Coimbra
