LEARNING OUTCOMES
This course addresses fundamental concepts of information technologies (IT) applied to management, essential to the daily routine of the future analyst, project manager or IT consultant. In practical terms, students will have the opportunity to configure a small ERP, much used at a national level, and acquire competences in the development of small XML applications. In this manner, students will get familiar with real problems that appear in the path of a professional of the IT domain. We also intend to stimulate group work abilities and the presentation of projects by the students. Competences:
1. Describe the main concepts studied in the course, including the main technological trends.
2. Know how to apply IT in current organisational scenarios.
3. Synthesise and present their ideas clearly and suitably, both orally and in writing.
4. Are capable of configuring a management information system and of understanding XML formats.
