Scientific Research of the Media

LEARNING OUTCOMES

• This curricular unit intends to show the activity of the media as an object capable of scientific analysis. It proposes an approach that goes beyond the study of media products (individually considered), and global programming strategies, as well as the analysis of media uses and consumption by citizens / receivers.
• In addition to the current synchronic approach, the students will be sensitized to the importance of diachronic studies, analyzing the media in a historical perspective, which is added and complicated by the cumulative trend and tendentially not exclusive to the media.
• The basic theoretical framework is intended to develop students for the execution, in the semester, of projects or projects of scientific investigation of the media.
