WELCOME TO ISMT
On my behalf, as the Miguel Torga Institute of Higher Education (ISMT) cicerone, I want to greet you for your interest in contacting us and invite you to a "journey" through our website.
ISMT is a private higher university education institution existing for more than 75 years now (we begun our activities in 1937), integrated in the Portuguese higher education system by the ordinance No. 15/90 of the 9th January.
The Institute is also a training organization accredited by the Scientific / Pedagogical Council for Continuous Training (CCPFC), as well as a collective member of the Research Centre for the Study of Population, Economics and Society (CEPESE), an institution dedicated to scientific research, vocation inter-university. The ISMT still is an associate member of the Portuguese Association of Private Higher Education (APESP), which is an association of non-state higher education institutions.
Our misson is to create and disseminate culture and science, as well as to establish conditions for conducting research, always in the perspective of development of the community and the individual.
At the present time, our education offer is:
1st Cycle Degrees – 11 degrees in a diversity of areas such as:
* COMMUNICATION SCIENCES
* BUSINESS SCIENCES
Accounting and Auditing
Human Resources Management
* SOCIAL AND BEHAVIORAL SCIENCES
* COMPUTER SCIENCES
Computer Science with Business
2nd Cycle Degrees (Masters) – 4 in the whole:
Human Resources Management and Organisational Behavior
In addition to these courses, ISMT also offers Postgraduate courses (non-academic degree), as well as short duration training.
ISMT, under Cooperation Protocols, also cooperates in doctoral studies, such as the course of PhD in Psychology in agreement with the University of Extremadura (in Spain).
Who are we?
We have been investing in the qualification of our faculty, as well as in the training of our administrative staff, thus allowing the creation of a body of Professors and employees which is creative, critical and innovative.
How are we?
Demanding in the construction of the present and impatient for the future.
Why are we?
Because we want to contribute to the creation of a consistent critical mass, and because we want to constitute an innovative teaching project that can respond to the labor market requirements.
And because the new millennium is based on the quality that is our big commitment. We are assured that the ISMT is where the future has already begun.
